October
11 has been marked as the International Day of the Girl by UNO. The
day aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls' face, while
promoting girls' empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights.
There
is a need to uphold the equal rights, voices and influence of girls in our
families, communities and nations. Girls can be powerful agents of change, and
nothing should keep them from participating fully in all areas of life. To
honour girls an Inter-House Street Play Competition “Strong Girls =
Strong World” was held in the Primary Wing on October 23, 2019. The
performances by all the four Houses were power packed and conveyed a strong
message on gender equality .
First
Position was bagged by Mother Teresa House , Tagore House bagged Runner’s Up
Position and there was a tie for Second Runner’s Up Position shared by Indira
Gandhi House and Nehru House . The panel of judges appreciated the dramatic
skills, scripting and clarity of message by all the teams.
