Empowering Young Minds: Parent Orientation for Project
MATE–5
The Parent Orientation Session for Project MATE–5 was
held at Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram, for the parents of students of
Classes VI and VII. The session aimed to acquaint parents with the objectives
and framework of Project MATE (Mind Activation Through Education)—an adolescent
well-being initiative by CBSE in collaboration with AIIMS, New Delhi. The
session commenced with a green welcome by Principal Ms. Alka Singh, who
underscored the significance of nurturing mental well-being and emotional
resilience in children.
The esteemed resource persons for the day were Dr.
Nand Kumar, Dr. Deepika, and Ms. Priyanka Green from the Department of
Psychiatry, AIIMS, New Delhi. They provided a comprehensive overview of the
MATE–5 program, highlighting its pivotal role in fostering positive mental
health, emotional regulation, and essential life skills among adolescents. The
speakers also emphasized the importance of collaboration between schools and
parents in building a supportive ecosystem for students’ holistic development.
Parents expressed their appreciation and trust in the
school and the school counsellor, acknowledging the concerted efforts
undertaken to promote the emotional and psychological well-being of the
learners. The session concluded with an interactive discussion, wherein parents
shared their queries and gained valuable insights into nurturing their child’s
emotional and social growth.
The orientation proved to be a meaningful initiative
towards reinforcing the school’s commitment to ensuring the mental well-being
and brighter future of its students.
